Helping Every Child Thrive in English

At LBBIS, we celebrate linguistic diversity and support students for whom English is an additional language. Our EAL programme is designed to help every learner gain confidence, improve communication skills, and fully participate in all aspects of school life—academically and socially.

Our EAL teachers work closely with students to develop their language skills through engaging, supportive, and individualized learning. Whether it’s building vocabulary, improving reading and writing, or boosting confidence in speaking, our goal is to ensure every child feels understood and empowered. Through collaboration with class teachers, we make sure EAL students are fully included in all classroom activities while receiving the focused attention they need to succeed.

Learning Through Care and Connection

With patience and encouragement, our teachers guide each learner step by step, creating a safe and joyful space where language comes alive. Every smile, conversation, and shared moment helps children build confidence and a sense of belonging. We believe learning English should feel natural and nurturing, so each student feels supported to express themselves freely and grow both academically and personally.

EAL Support at LBBIS

Students receive focused small-group or one-on-one lessons to strengthen their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. These sessions are tailored to each child’s English proficiency level, allowing teachers to address specific needs and accelerate language development.
Our EAL teacher joins mainstream classroom lessons to provide real-time guidance. This support helps students understand instructions, participate confidently in discussions, and engage fully with the curriculum while remaining part of the class community.
For students with limited English proficiency, we provide daily or more frequent intensive lessons. These sessions focus on building fluency, comprehension, and confidence, enabling students to transition successfully to mainstream lessons.
Additional guidance outside of regular class hours ensures that students can complete assignments confidently. This support also helps develop independent learning skills and reinforces the language skills learned during lessons.
English learning is integrated into all subject areas, helping students acquire subject-specific vocabulary and concepts while simultaneously improving overall language proficiency. This approach ensures that students continue to progress academically while strengthening their English skills.
EAL students are paired with fluent peers to encourage social integration, build confidence, and provide informal practice in everyday interactions. This system helps students feel included and supported both inside and outside the classroom.
As students gain fluency and confidence, support is gradually reduced. Our goal is to prepare each student for full participation in mainstream classes while maintaining their progress and success across all subjects.
