Bahlool British International School (LBBIS) in Baghdad is more than a place of learning. It is a vision brought to life. Founded by visionary civil engineers, LBBIS is built on the belief that the same precision, integrity, and foresight used to design strong structures are essential to shaping strong futures. Just as every building begins with a blueprint, every student’s journey at LBBIS begins with a clear vision of who they can become.

LBBIS is one of the few schools in Baghdad to follow the National Curriculum of England, providing a world-class education for boys and girls aged 3 to 18. Since opening our doors in September 2021, we have welcomed primary pupils aged 3 to 11. The school continues to expand each year, growing towards a full through-school experience from early years to graduation.

LBBIS is one of the few schools in Baghdad to follow the National Curriculum of England, providing a world-class education for boys and girls aged 3 to 18. Our campus and curriculum have been thoughtfully designed to reflect the journey of every learner, from their earliest steps to their emergence as leaders:

  • The Foundation Floor is where curiosity, care, and confidence take root.
  • The Builders Block is where knowledge, skills, and relationships are constructed to strengthen character.
  • The Leadership Factory is where students refine their identity, take responsibility, and grow into the future leaders of Iraq.
At the heart of our approach is the Bahlool Builders Character Curriculum, which shapes students who lead with intellect, integrity, and purpose. Grounded in our core values of Respect, Resilience, and Honesty, and supported by Responsibility, Courage, Cooperation, Compassion, Fairness, Creativity, and Gratitude, we guide students to build not only their own futures but also a stronger community and nation.
Our founders’ legacy continues in every classroom, corridor, and conversation. We are not simply constructing buildings; we are constructing lives. LBBIS graduates are more than learners. They are builders of their own futures, members of a united community, and leaders prepared to shape the future of Iraq, the region, and the wider world.

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Bahlool British International School (LBBIS), a warm and inclusive community where every child’s wellbeing, personal growth, and academic success are at the heart of everything we do.
Our school was created with a clear purpose: to provide a world-class British education in Baghdad while building character, strengthening community, and shaping the future leaders of Iraq and beyond. As civil engineers by profession, we believe that the same precision and foresight used to design strong structures are essential for shaping strong futures. LBBIS was built with this legacy in mind. It is not only a place where students learn but also a place where they are inspired to dream, plan, and build their own paths.
We follow the National Curriculum of England from the Foundation Stage onwards, and our campus is designed to support learning from early years through to graduation. We are proud to be Pearson accredited as an examination centre, which allows students to complete their iGCSE and International A Level qualifications here at LBBIS. We also follow the Pearson curriculum and use their publications, resources, and digital applications to provide a high-quality learning experience that prepares students for success in the classroom and beyond. At LBBIS, education goes far beyond textbooks and classrooms. We nurture curiosity, resilience, and leadership while instilling a lifelong love of learning. Our character curriculum ensures that students not only achieve academically but also develop the values, confidence, and integrity they need to thrive in a changing world. Message From Our Executive Principal

Ms Siobhan Brady

Welcome to LBBIS. It is a privilege to lead a school that is committed to excellence, innovation, and inclusion, and to work alongside a dedicated team who share a passion for shaping the future of education in Iraq and beyond.

My career in education has spanned the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and beyond, and throughout this journey my mission has remained the same: to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students and to support schools in delivering the highest standards of learning and care. I have served as a Principal, Vice Principal, and Head of Inclusion/SENCo, and I now bring this experience to my role as Executive Principal at LBBIS.

Before moving to the UAE, I was Assistant Principal of a specialist autism school in the UK. Since then, I have worked extensively with international schools across a variety of curricula, including UK, US, IB, Philippine, Indian, and Pakistani, helping them to strengthen teaching, leadership, and inclusion. I am also a British Schools Overseas inspector and have been part of many inspection teams, including the review of Sharjah’s private schools against the UAE framework.

My work has always focused on creating environments where every student can thrive. This includes supporting senior leadership teams with strategic planning, conducting full school improvement reviews, and helping schools develop actionable plans to drive progress and innovation. I am passionate about ensuring that every child receives a world-class education that nurtures their potential, builds their character, and prepares them for the opportunities and challenges of the future.
